If a user has made their account private, you must request to follow that user. The user can then accept or deny the request.
To request to follow a private user, tap the Follow+ button on the user's profile. A message displays indicating that a request has been sent to follow the user. Tap the OK button to close the message.
If the user accepts your follow request, you'll see a notification in your Notifications list.
